There aren't that many options when it comes to 1/6
scale model horses. Dragon makes an articulated WWII era German cavalry horse. Many customizers say it's a
little large.
Marx Toys made the Johnny West horses back in the early 1960's. There are several models to
choose from. Thunderbolt is the one that I and most 1/6 collectors happen to use. You can go to: http://toys.search.ebay.com/horse_Marx_W0QQsacatZ2466 to find an affordable Marx horse.
Usually you can find one for $20-$30. You can also go to Stevo's Toys and find new Marx horses reproduced by him. This is
his link http://stevostoys.com/WESTERN_HORSE.htm.
If you happen to purchase a Marx horse, or already own one but needs repair,Kirby Jonas is your man. Not only is he a famous novelist but he's also an artist. He's repaired
and painted Marx horses for years. You can contact him at http://www.kirbyjonas.com/.
For those of you who are interested in displaying my saddles with a beautiful custom
horse, the ones shown below may be your solution.
My good friend and renowned artist Luis Aguilar
of Mexico City sculpts the most beautiful 1/6 scale resin horses. He has two horses in production. The Charro which is
a Mexican breed and the American Quarter horse. You have a choice of painted or unpainted. I especially like the way
my saddles look on his horses and you will too. You can contact Luis at nohuanda2000@yahoo.com for a list of prices. This is a link to more of his horses. http://www.flickr.com/photos/nohuanda/page6/
